
In 2012 the City of Spruce Grove was planning a fire training building with a strong emphasis on search & rescue, but the building would have to meet budget requirements over a period of time. FTS helped design a two-phase project, with a tower to be added in the future.

Phase 1:
Planning Ahead
Phase one of the planned Search and Rescue facility began in early 2013. It was made up of:

3 - 40' and 1 - 20' container.

Removable level 2 grating and exterior stairs to be used in Phase 2.

Rappel for high angle work.

Sprinkler system and risers.

Burn room.

Phase 2: Description
Phase 2 was completed in Fall 2014. Chief Rob Kosterman and his crew helped add:

1 - 40' to complete the bedrooms and bathroom search and rescue areas.

1 - 20' to add a garage. Steel roll-up with sheeted plywood wall behind.

Additional burn room.
-
Enlarged existing burn room to 10'.

Enlarged roof area for ladder work.
